Where I Dwell - Part 1

So, last night I took the old cameroon and tripod out across the street to get some pictures of the apartment so that I'll always have a picture of the first home Curtis and I shared. This is the first of a three part series ... serious business.

In this first set of photogs you'll see pictures of my apartment building. I like it. It is a very nice place to live. The other two series are more experimental in nature... but you'll just have to come back to see them.

I hope you enjoy these first ones.

The cottage life's for me!

I know, I know, you're sick of all m cottage pictures! These are the last of them: my nature shots. Don't get upset, soon enough you'll have something different... well, it'll probably be more of the dog, but, maybe, just maybe I'll surprise you with something else even less exciting!

Dimi Loves Baseball

So, as you know, we went to the cottage last weekend. Dimi didn't have any toys with her, so one of the family members graciously let her play with his baseball - under the assumption that there was no way she could destroy it (which turned out to be true). Here are a few pictures I took of my beloved De Minimis Maximus, pooch extraordinaire.

I know, I know... I'm way too crazy about my dog.

More Roon-bop pictures coming soon. I had too much fun at the cottage not to post more pictures.

Until next time, Gadget.

The Ducks!

Well, I spent this past weekend at my husband's aunt & uncle's cottage. It was SO awesome... I actually saw the milky way! STARS!!! Don't get many of those in the city.

I also saw a lot of ducks. Dimi tried swimming after a few of them (it was her first time swimming, so there was no way she'd catch them - they are, one might consider, swimming superstars). So, I had some free time and I decided I'd take some shots of the ducks.

Ducks are fun.

Fun with Fire

Well, good news!

Last night was my first photo session post night classes. Truthfully, it took a while to motivate myself to get started, but once I did I got very excited.

You see, my wonderful in laws picked up a tripod for me at a garage sale and last night I finally got a chance to play with it and oh what fun I had! These photos - Fun with Fire - were all taken with a shutter speed of 30 seconds. I took the photos in complete darkness, the only light was the flame from my lighter. Below you will see the results.

This isn't fun with fire, but look how well she stayed still for the slow shutter speed!

I wanted to put this one up, because I really like the me on the left. Because I placed the flame behind my body I look like a shadow... good to note - I'll have to play with this more - but not until my thumbs heal from all that flicking.

This one I did the most photoshoping. I brought the light down really low. I like the effect that it made. Perhaps it is something I should consider doing for the other ones as well.
