James the Great - part 3

All good things must come to an end. And so too it is with Jamesness.

These final pictures were taken on a black background with two primary light sources (soft boxes) on either side of him and an umbrella light pointing at him (from afar) to light up his eyes.

James the Great - part 2

So for part 2 of Jamesness you will see pictures from the black background set up. Very similar to Sarah's set up, except that we also added a strong back light to the mix. I had much fun with this. And I got to listen to James sing to boot! Who am I kidding, Erykah Badu was playing, so I was singing too.

Thanksgiving weekend

So, after being crapily sick... I am back with photos.

I spent my Thanksgiving weekend in Ottawa, and I blame Ottawa for getting sick. I had a wonderful time with my family & a quick visit with a couple friends. Thanksgiving is great because:
1) You get to see your family, extended and all
2) Amazing food - stuffing is my absolute favourite... mmm... I could go for some right now.

This year, at my side of the family's T-giving dinner we even got to play Rock Band... which of course, I love and rock at.

So here are a few pictures of my family & 2 of my friends' kid - Brayden.

Profile: Natalie Norton

Hello!

So, I thought I would take some time again to profile another photographer that I admire: Natalie Norton... I've never met this woman, but I've read many of her blogs. She has been a guest blogger on DPS and also has her own blog: Pics and Kicks. So I came to know of her, through DPS and then went to check her out. She is great. She uses her blog for personal purposes, such as wishing people a happy birthday, for professional purposes, by showing teasers for her clients and as an educator, helping people like me. She is able to write in ways that are easy to understand and more importantly NOT boring! :) (Thanks for that). One of my favourite things that she does is interview other photographers for her blog. It's brilliant! I love learning about others.

I don't just admire her for her wonderful blog that keeps me informed and amused. She also takes wonderful photographs. Her focus is definitely on portraits. She takes great portraits using lighting, angles and colour to create some fantastic shots. Not your run of the mill photographer. She is able to take great group shots too! I adore this one. Such a creative way to shoot a family, using depth of field. I love it!
